Manufacturing & Ethics
We believe every business should choose its manufacturing carefully, to us suppliers are just as important as our customers. Without their dedication and hard work, we would not be as good as we are.
We have a very close working relationship with all our suppliers, one where we can share our ideas and foster improvements year on year. We have carefully selected them based on their excellence and ability, rather than cost, and as a result our relationship outweighs global economics. The Close products you buy today are either made in Turkey or in China, with two manufacturing partners who have underpinned our growth during the last half-decade. We see them as part of the same Close team, and we are both engaged and invested in their ethics and working environments, and committed to regularly spending time in the factory with them throughout the year to ensure our award winning ideas are always manufactured to exacting standards in order to deliver the best experience possible.
In terms of Charity, we’re proud to take part in a range of activities both on our doorstep and overseas… but there’s always more to do.
Locally, we dedicate time to support the national network of sling & nappy libraries, providing subsidised products for these “not for profit,” organisations. We are also proud to support Bliss, the UK charity supporting premature births, providing best chance of survival to little ones born too small, too soon or too sick.
Further afield, we donate nappies, bibs and hygiene products to international causes such as The Point Foundation, a UK based organisation, which works on sustainable community projects in Rwanda. We also donate fabric to Jane Wright, a true champion of good causes, who not only up-cycles our waste material to produce reusable menstrual kits for young teenage girls in Malawi but also spends time teaching locals how to make them for themselves, allowing them to attend school at times when they would normally be forced to stay home.
